As someone with a British background, I’ve always been proud of my diverse heritage – a mix of Irish and Scottish roots. I believe that is where my red hair comes from and it is a trait that I have always felt sets me apart from others. I have always been fascinated by the history and culture of Ireland, and it is one of the reasons why I have a deep connection to my ancestry.
My interest in Irish history was first sparked by my discovery of the story of Grace O’Malley, also known as the Irish Pirate Queen. She was a powerful and fearless leader who lived in the 16th century and made a significant impact on the history of Ireland.
Her story has always been an inspiration to me, and I have always admired her for her courage, strength, and determination. But it’s not just her story, the numerous female figures that have played important roles in Irish history and mythology are also quite captivating.

Now, at the grand old age of 33, I have the privilege of raising two children that are part of the next proud generation of Irish people.
