Nicky Hoseck (Creative Writer)

As someone with a British background, I’ve always been proud of my diverse heritage – a mix of Irish and Scottish roots. I believe that is where my red hair comes from and it is a trait that I have always felt sets me apart from others. I have always been fascinated by the history and culture of Ireland, and it is one of the reasons why I have a deep connection to my ancestry.

My interest in Irish history was first sparked by my discovery of the story of Grace O’Malley, also known as the Irish Pirate Queen. She was a powerful and fearless leader who lived in the 16th century and made a significant impact on the history of Ireland.

Her story has always been an inspiration to me, and I have always admired her for her courage, strength, and determination. But it’s not just her story, the numerous female figures that have played important roles in Irish history and mythology are also quite captivating.

The presence of such figures adds more layers of representation and inspiration to the stories of Ireland and it highlights the strength and resilience of women.

I had the privilege of visiting Ireland a couple of years ago, and it was an experience that left a deep impact on me. From the rolling green hills, to the charming villages, to the rugged coastline, the natural beauty of the country was truly breathtaking.

I was amazed by the warmth and hospitality of the Irish people, their love for music and storytelling, and their deep appreciation of the land they call home. The visit made me feel connected to my heritage, and it is an experience that I will always cherish.

I long to return to Ireland again, and when I do, I have a dream of galloping along the beach on a majestic black horse, with my red hair flowing freely behind me. It would be an unforgettable moment to experience the connection of my heritage with the land and culture.

I believe that Ireland holds many secrets and hidden gems that are yet to be discovered, and I look forward to the opportunity to explore them all.

I want to wander through the ancient ruins, learn more about their rich history, and soak in the cultural and artistic influences that have shaped the country into what it is today. Overall, my love for Ireland and its culture runs deep, and I feel a strong connection to my heritage through it.

Natasha Peters

Although I was born in Britain, I found myself whisked off my feet by a born and bred Irishman at the age of 19, and I’ve lived here, in the Donegal countryside, ever since.

Now, at the grand old age of 33, I have the privilege of raising two children that are part of the next proud generation of Irish people.

However, long before I stepped on Irish soil, I was fascinated by the culture, the landscape, and the folklore that runs through the very veins of the emerald isle.

There is something so beautiful about the way Ireland has held on so tightly to its culture and traditions, despite many attempts from outside influences.

As a freelance content and copywriter, it’s incredible to be writing about the culture I live within and using my skills and creative writing to bring the history and traditions of this incredible country to others who feel a connection to this ancient place.
